Foundation Earns Prestigious Accreditation
Third Annual Golf Challenge Successful!
Ferguson Family Fund & Scholarships

Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia, Inc.
Awards Three $1,000 Grants

At a presentation ceremony on September 11, the Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia, Inc. awarded $1,000 grants to the Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast, The Arc of the Virginia Peninsula, and Special Olympics Virginia (Hampton Roads Area 22). Rick Pearce, President of the Foundation Board of Directors, assisted by Board member and Past President, Larry Cumming, presented the checks. Executive Director Jana Murphy Kast was also in attendance to congratulate recipients and to thank them for their efforts toward community excellence on the Virginia Peninsula.

Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia
Earns Prestigious Accreditation
From National Association

The Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia recently received notification that it has met the nation’s highest philanthropic standards for operational quality, integrity and accountability. The notice comes from the Council on Foundations, a national professional association based in Washington, D.C.
 
"This is similar to the Good Housekeeping Seal for community foundations,” said Steve Gunderson, Council on Foundations President and Chief Executive Officer. “It says that The Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia has demonstrated a commitment to operational quality, integrity and accountability.”

Third Annual Golf Challenge a Great Success!

On August 27 the Foundation conducted its Third Annual Golf Challenge at James River Country Club. Over 100 players participated in the tournament, presented by Old Point National Bank.

Announcing the Ferguson Family Fund
And Ferguson Scholarship Program

The Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia proudly announces the Ferguson Family Fund, established to assist Ferguson employees and their families. This program has been designed to provide financial support for associates during their times of need. For complete information on the emergency relief program click here.

The Ferguson Scholarship Fund was established in 2007 to provide scholarship support for children of Ferguson associates who plan to attend a post-secondary two- or four-year university or college, trade or vocational school, and enroll full-time.
