The Ferguson Family Scholarship

The Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia is pleased to
administer the Ferguson Scholarship Fund.
The Ferguson Scholarship Fund was established in 2007 with a generous donation from CEO John Stegeman and his wife, Cindy. The scholarship provides financial assistance to dependent children of Ferguson associates who are high school seniors planning to attend and enroll full-time in a post-secondary two- or four-year university or college, trade or vocational school, OR who are currently enrolled full-time as a college freshman, sophomore, or junior with at least one year of coursework remaining at the undergraduate level. Students must be pursuing their first college degree. College seniors earning a Bachelor's Degree and going on to graduate school are not eligible. Please review the scholarship documentation to see the full eligibility criteria.
Congratulations to the 2008 Ferguson Scholarship Fund Recipients!
Nearly 150 applications were received from across the United States in competition for the inaugural Ferguson Scholarship Fund
awards. In the initial selection phase, applications were screened with particular emphasis on volunteer and community service,
school activities, personal essays, definition of character, academic achievement and demonstration of financial need.
Thirty finalists were selected,
and those 30 applications were again reviewed in depth by an independent
selection committee of local community leaders.
The five scholarships, each in the amount of $2,500, have been awarded
to the following students. Based on the outstanding quality
of all the applicants, the committee's task of selecting
just five recipients was extremely difficult. Congratulations to the 2008 winners!
Briana K. Donohue ~ Niles, Michigan; Robert A. Evans ~ Chattanooga, Tennessee
Jessica M. Gamber ~ Brooklyn Park, Minnesota
Dana M. Green ~ Kennett Square, Pennsylvania; Drew B. Hall ~ Grayson, Kentucky
