Unrestricted Funds
Unrestricted Funds enable the Foundation to respond to changing community
needs and emergencies, to create innovative responses to community
problems and to enhance the quality of life. Donors place no restrictions
on how these funds are to be used, leaving those decisions to the
discretion of the Foundation's Board of Directors. Each quarter the Board
reviews proposals from area nonprofits and awards grants from Unrestricted
and Field of Interest Funds. Click here to download a pdf of the Unrestricted Funds
sample form.
Field of Interest Funds
Field of Interest Funds support a broad area of concern, such as
education, the arts, medical research, and services for abused women and children. The
Foundation then makes grants to the most appropriate programs or
organizations within the field of interest specified by the donor. Grants
are typically made quarterly after the Foundation’s Board of Directors
reviews applications from area nonprofits. Click here to download a pdf of the
Field of Interest Funds sample form.
Donor Advised Funds
Donor Advised Funds allow you to be involved in recommending the
nonprofit organizations that will receive grants from your fund. By
creating a Donor Advised Fund you can meet your charitable interests in
years to come by establishing one simple fund. Click here to download the Donor Advised Fund sample form.
Designated Funds
Designated Funds let you name specific nonprofit organizations to receive
support. These funds are an effective and efficient way for you to provide
for favorite charities through a permanent fund held at the Foundation. Click here to

Scholarship Funds
The Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia is currently raising funds
that will enable us to award scholarships to
deserving students to pursue their academic goals. Scholarships can be
established by individuals, families,
organizations and companies. Donors may also define the eligibility guidelines for
candidate selection or designate a specific field,
study or college to be attended. Click here to
download the Scholarship Fund sample form.
Organizational Funds
Organizational Funds are established by nonprofit organizations to
generate funds for their own uses.
