In April 2011, The Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia was honored to partner with The Peninsula Town Center as they established a fund for scholarship awards for high school seniors attending Hampton High School and Hampton Christian High School. Applicants should be pursuing a college degree in a business-related field and have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 or better.
The four 2011 awards are for $2,500 each, two available for each of the eligible high schools, and will be paid directly to the recipients' educational institutions in two equal semester installments of $1,250. The awards are renewable for up to one additional year, provided that the student maintains a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better, course load of 12 or more credit hours, and continues to meet all eligibility requirements.
