It is my pleasure to present our second “Peninsula Perspective” newsletter for 2025. I am Greg Lawson, and I have the honor of serving as the President of the Board of Directors for the Peninsula Community Foundation.

I joined this Foundation family 23 years ago as part of the small group of Peninsula folks who launched it - to better respond to the growing needs of our neighbors all around us. I am grateful this family has grown so much through the years, and I
am proud to share some of our family stories with you here.
  • Our Children’s Holiday Fund: More than $500,000 has been awarded to nonprofits across the Peninsula in the last several years supporting holiday programs that focus on children and families in need. Your support for the Fund this year, during these days of great insecurity for so many neighbors, could truly be light in dark times.
  • Our Grantee Highlight: Menchville House - this incredible organization has been addressing the needs of homeless families for 24 years and changing history, one family at a time.
  • When Mike and Clare Stevens joined the Foundation as scholarship donors, their fund was born of their love for their son and their belief that everyone has extraordinary gifts - some of us just need more of a chance to shine our light. We are proud to share their story in “Donor Spotlight.”
  • Service Check:  Impact 100 - Ten years ago, three determined women came to PCF with the idea for a group giving program. Impact 100 has now awarded more than $1,000,000 in grants to this community. It is our honor to serve as Impact 100’s fiscal partner, as they change the trajectory for many nonprofits across the Peninsula.
  • From our earliest days, Ferguson has been our visionary corporate partner - making one good-faith investment after another, with us and through us, giving seed support to programs that are now at the heart of our work, and to how we serve those who care for our neighbors. We are proud to honor them in this edition’s “Partner Perspective.”
  • And I am pleased to introduce you to our investment team at Mercer Capital. Here, they share a bit about themselves, their company, our partnership, their vision and strategy for stewarding PCF’s resources - our donor’s resources entrusted to us - and their philosophy about investing to do well, and do good.
We are grateful for all the people and organizations who are part of our PCF family. And we hope the holiday season ahead brings many blessings for your family, and for all of our neighbors in this community we love.
