MEET OUR TEAM

​Collectively, the Peninsula Community Foundation staff brings over 100 years of nonprofit leadership experience in service to the Foundation and our community. Our small, dedicated professional team is honored to be the administrative hands and feet for PCF, our donors, partners, and programs.

Adelia Thompson

Chief Executive Officer
Adelia Thompson brings nearly four decades of leadership and community engagement experience to her role as Chief Executive Officer. Adelia's career is marked by a deep commitment to institutional advancement and philanthropy. She came to the Hampton Roads area in 2011 to lead Christopher Newport University's first comprehensive campaign. She later served as Chief of Staff, Interim President, and Senior Counsel to the university's president before retiring from CNU in 2024.
Earlier in her career, she held significant roles at institutions like the Alabama Symphony and the Alabama Humanities Foundation. She also served as Director of Major Gifts and Assistant Vice President for Advancement at Agnes Scott College and as Vice President of Development for the Foundation for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She returned to her alma mater, Birmingham-Southern College, in 2005 to lead a successful six-year campaign.

Committed to her community, Adelia serves on the board of Riverside Regional Medical Center and has previously served on the board of the Peninsula Foodbank. She lives in Newport News with her husband J. Lynn and their golden retriever, Bumper. [email protected]

Jennifer Brambley

Chief Financial Officer
Jennifer serves as the primary steward of the Foundation’s financial health and strategic resources. She oversees day-to-day accounting and manages our diverse charitable funds, working closely with fund holders to align their philanthropic giving with their long-term charitable goals, infusing more than $40 million to date back into the community.​  [email protected]

Director of Communications & Give Local 757
Tammy is the lead strategist for the Foundation’s brand architecture and regional engagement. With over 25 years of senior leadership experience, she oversees the communication pathways that connect donors with impactful community initiatives. As the head of Give Local 757, Tammy manages this vital regional effort that has raised over $14 million to date for hundreds of nonprofits in Hampton Roads. [email protected]

Support Services Coordinator
Konner serves as a vital member of the team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the Foundation. He provides support for a variety of organizational needs, including coordinating meetings, assisting with research, and contributing to marketing projects. [email protected]

Director of Scholarships, Special Programs & Support Services
With more than 32 years of experience directing a non-profit educational ministry, Lori brings a deep passion for children and youth to the Foundation. Lori believes education is the key to unlocking potential and works to ensure that financial barriers do not hinder academic or career goals. She manages our 22 college scholarships and educator grants, helping to support current teachers as well as the next generation of leaders.  She plays a leadership role in the Children's Holiday Fund to ensure that local non-profits receive the financial resources needed to support their holiday events serving the underserved on the Peninsula. ​ [email protected]
